Process Engineer
Automotive background. Aluminum diecast or CNC experience.
Adjusts new parts and completes the follows up of life series, while guaranteeing that procedures are adhered to, also guarantees the improvement of productivity and quality. Leads the quality circle activities of his cell.
- Setup for new parts
Along with the Unit Business Manager for the cell, and with the project manager, he ensures the products and process set up ; according to the specifications defined by SJI and the customer. He knows, defines and implements all the process' operations.
Stays informed about processes in other departments in order to have an overall understanding of part's manufacturing.
Ensures implementation of all tests in order to set up and develop new parts.
Edits and collects all necessary information to complete a folder on the part, along with the Project Manager or the Methods Process Managers. He also works on the instructions sheets according to the procedures.
- Follow up Life Series
He completes a daily follow up of production and scraps (analysis routing sheets). Continuously, leads meetings on scraps/improvements along side with the quality, production and maintenance department. He treats scraps by type (ex:
flaws, crack, misrun) and by order of importance ;
Edits Demands for Modifications and touch ups (DM);
Follows upon their development and validates the DM's effectiveness ;
Handles instruction sheets ;
Studies and develops parameters as defined by the manufacturing department ;
Ensures that the operators and the shift leaders apply procedures at the work stations;
Sets up improvement tools (SMED, KAIZEN, 5S,) in conjunction with the Manager who is responsible for continuous improvement.
- Improvement Process and R&D
He participates in new tests for process improvements, or qualification of new products with the R&D department and the Methods Process ;
Participates in the Methods' Department Meetings in order to apply a coherent and harmonious policy within SJI ;
Applies the e PDCA approach on the 2 main causes of Non Productivity and scraps ;
Ensures updates of the PDCAs and their displays ;Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
