About The Opportunity:
We are a leading telecommunications company dedicated to providing reliable and innovative solutions to our clients.
We specialize in designing, implementing, and managing Outside Plant (OSP) projects that drive connectivity and communication across diverse landscapes.
We are looking for an experienced OSP Engineer Manager to manage a team of field engineers out of our Conway, AR office.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working as an OSP Engineer as well as some lead, supervisor, or management experience within the OSP Engineering field.
As an OSP Engineer Manager, you will be helping to assist grow your team and will need to have previous experience as well as comfortability working out in the field or training out in the field when needed.
You will also need to be comfortable with teaching different skills such as BAU work, copper, fiber, and other OSP skill sets.
You will need to have a strong understanding and background in drafting, designing, fielding, and permitting to help assist your team when questions arise.
Please note, that this position is 100% on-site and there are no hybrid or remote options.
Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance and support Work with other department heads on both daily and long-term plans to ensure that all the various department's goals are aligned Provide training and field personnel development to both new and existing employees in technology, work practices, etc.
Build and maintain a teamwork-oriented philosophy and hold team members accountable for their performance Provide the necessary individual counseling for employees whose performance does not meet acceptable standards and take appropriate actions Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the OSP engineering team, optimizing processes and implementing best practices Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging standards in OSP engineering Requirements:
5 years of proven experience as an OSP Engineer manager Proven experience in managing a team of at least 10 engineers, preferably in the OSP engineering field In-depth knowledge of telecommunications industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to OSP infrastructure Proficiency in using OSP design software and tools such as AutoCAD Proven fielding experience and comfortable working in the field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients Problem-solving mind set with the ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and make informed decisions Proven ability to completely coach and develop a fielding team within the telecom industry Must be comfortable going on-site daily Ability to travel 10-20% of the time
